The Three Billy Goats Gruff: Traditional literature

"The Three Billy Goats Gruff" told by P.C. Asbjornsen is a story about three Billy goats all named Gruff. They are going to the Hillside to get fat. On the way to the hillside they must pass over a bridge that a big troll lives under, so when they get to the bridge the smallest goat begins to go over and the Troll almost eats him. When he almost eats him the goat says to wait for the bigger goat to come. When the second goat comes over the troll does the same thing, but the goat says to wait for the biggest goat to come over. When the third and biggest goat begins to come over the troll attempts to eat him, but the goat has such big horns he tells him NO, and that the goat will get the troll. So the biggest goat attacks the troll, and the three Billy goats go to the hillside and get fat. I would not use this book in my classroom because it is a little violent, and it could give students the wrong idea. But they could use it to teach about bullying, and why they should not do so. It is for 2nd-5th grade, but could be read in higher grades if they needed to be spoken to about bullying.
