P.S. I Like You: Audio Book
P.S. I Like You
Author: Kasie West
Genre: Audio Book
Age group: 12-15 years old
Grade: 7-9
Teacher evaluation: I really enjoyed this book. It reminds me of the stories that I read as a kid. I would recommend this for students who like cute, romantic stories, but I would not read it as a classroom book. I would read certain excerpts from the book like when a teacher was getting upset about her not doing her work. I would only use this in 5th or 6th grade classes. It seems a little too mature for EC- 4.
Summary: P.S I Like you is about Lily Abbott and her friend Isabel. Isabel is trying to find Lily a boyfriend. She is a little awkward and she does not think someone will want to go out with her. She writes songs in a notebook. When her teacher bans her notebook from class she begins writing lyrics on the desk. Someone begins finishing the lyrics. They then begin writing letters together. Lily begins to really like this person, but she is scared to actually meet the person. She then tries to figure out the mystery of who she is writing to. She is then sent on an errand by her teacher into the chemistry classroom earlier. She then sees Cade Isabel's ex boyfriend writing all over the desk. Lily continuously sees Cade, but she does not tell him that she is who he is writing to. Cade is seen with a girl named Sasha who tells everyone they are dating. She thinks Cade thinks he is talking to Sasha. She leaves Cade a letter she tells him everything, and leaves it for him. The next day when she returns there is no note. When the class is over the teacher has her note. He tells her she may not write anymore notes. Lily decides to break into the classroom to get her note back. When she goes to take it back Cade is in the room. He tells her he knows she has been the one writing to him. He tells her he likes her just like she likes him. They begin dating and Sasha then tries to sabotage Lily. She takes Lily's notebook and reads her songs out loud to Cade. It tells secrets about Cade and Lily is worried that he will not talk to her anymore, but instead he thinks they should enter the songs into a competition and he thinks they are awesome.
