Summary: There were animals on a farm. Peggoty was a pig. She was very proud of the way she looks, and would look at herself for hours. Then one day lambs were passing the field; they really enjoyed the way they looked, and they called Peggoty, pink and fat. She then saw herself as ugly and bald. She was so sad and wondered why she was born that way. She then asked her friends why she was bald. The horse answered it was because she had no mane, and that was also why she was ugly. She then asked the marmalade cat and the cat answered that it is because Peggoty has no fur. and that is why she is ugly. Peggoty then asked the moon why was I born so ugly and bald. A rooster on the top of the barn replied it is because you have no feathers to flaunt. Peggoty then asked the rooster for help. Peggoty then trotted into the barn, and scuffled around. The next morning she shuffled out of the barn, and she had magically grown hair. All the animals laughed because she was wearing a wig! Peggoty sped away crying. As peggoty looked into the farmhouse she peeked into the window and saw a pink bald baby. They called the baby beautiful and perfect. The mother then saw peggoty and screamed for help because of the "hairy" monster. Peggoty then told her story to all the animals and told them that to humans they were all hairy monsters, and she was a beautiful perfect and hairless pig. She thinks pigs were perfect.
