"The Hare and the Tortoise": Traditional Literature
The story "The Hare and the Tortoise" by Maryann Hoberman was inside a book full of fables. The hare told the tortoise that he is slow, so the tortoise challenged the hare to a race. The hare took his time, and even took a nap. The hare ended up sleeping too long while the tortoise slipped past him quietly. When the hare woke up the tortoise was already at the finish line, and he had won the race. I would use this book in my classroom, and I would use it when teaching people about being team players. It could be used in all grade levels to teach a lesson, because everyone would be able to understand it . It could also be used in science when talking about animals, so students know how slow or fast they are.
